Just to say how happy I am with the results of my varicose vein treatment at the St Annes street clinic Manchester. Dr Ananth Krishnan is such a great guy and explains the procedure of the laser/foam treatment very well and puts you at your ease with his friendly manner, ably assisted by his wonderful team. The one main question I asked at the start of my treatment was will I ever be able to wear shorts again he answered yes and I am so happy with the results I now wear them all the time. Thank you so much Dr Krishnan and everyone at the Manchester clinic.

I can’t praise the vein clinic enough, especially Dr Ananth Krishnan & Helen. The procedure from start to finish was perfect. I was informed exactly what was going to happen & when, this helped enormously & put you very much at ease. The procedure itself (On both legs) didn’t hurt & only lasted 45mins from entering the clinic to leaving. The aftercare was great at my follow up appointment. The clinics COVID-19 guidelines were efficient & well thought through. All I can say is a huge thankyou to Dr Krishnan & all the staff for making my treatment a success & even better that I can now wear shorts.

I researched a lot about my varicose veins and this place had a great website with all the information needed. I particularly liked the set pricing structure. As I had to travel they could do a consultation and treatment in one visit. The staff were great, very friendly and their explanation during and after scanning my legs was clear and helpful. I’m pretty squeamish having never had any surgical procedure but my advice to others would be to relax because my concern was way over the top. Yes you feel a few needle injections, for the anaesthetic and after for the foam injections but nothing that painful, just sharp scratches. The actual procedure was totally painless and it was a surprise when it was over so soon. You have to wear the support stockings for a week which is a bit of a pain but when they came off the difference was amazing. 90% gone.Yes my legs hurt a few days later, like a feeling of cramp which I took paracetamol for but nothing terrible and it didn’t stop me going to the gym. I had a follow up for one further foam injection and 6 months on my varicose veins have gone. If anyone I knew needed a similar treatment I’d recommend the Vein Centre.

I attended 3 appointments at the Veincentre in Manchester. My first was for consultation, laser treatment and foam injections in both legs for varicose veins. Six weeks later at my follow up appointment my veins were still visible so I had additional foam injections. I decided to make a 3rd appointment eight months later as my legs hadn’t improved. At this appointment I was told there was nothing more that could be done to make the appearance of my legs look any better. The veins on the back of my leg were marked, but I was told no treatment was necessary as it could cause staining. I was also told the veins between my calf and and ankle were not varicose. I attended the Veincentre at a considerable cost mainly for cosmetic reasons so feel very disappointed with the results.

Response from Veincentre Manchester

We are very concerned to read this review and hear of your disappointment with the results of the treatment. It is difficult to comment without being able to refer to the specific clinical notes but from what you write it is likely that you have some persistent skin staining following the sclerotherapy. As no further treatment was advised there must have been no active varicose or other open veins that required injection. The staining is a common side effect that can take a long time to resolve but usually it fades with time. We always warn all patients of all potential complications and side effects and in fact are the only company we know of that has a webpage specifically devoted to the risks of vein treatment. There is nothing that we, or any other provider of vein treatments, can do to totally avoid this side effect in a few patients or to assess in advance who is more or less likely to experience this. We do hope and expect that the staining will fade further with time. We are very sorry that you feel the way you do especially as the vast majority of our patients are delighted with the results.

I went here because in was embarrassed about my legs and the very obvious varicose veins. I knew it was not serious enough for the NHS so I went private. Consultant and Nurse Practioner were both excellent. My advice after is walk, walk, walk it helps immensely. Back to work straight after and the gym the week after. Really pleased with results. Shorts and short dress on holiday for the first time in 10 years

I received my first treatment in October 2016, EVLA plus extra foam in an extra large vein, the treatment I had was virtually painless, and was made to feel at ease by all of the team, and I was out within an hour. the follow up treatment was again totally painfree. Four months after, I found I still had several pronounced ("soft and squidgy") veins so paid to have an extra treatment of foam, at £360. In all the treatment cost around £3000. 10months on from the first treatment I do still have some staining (looks like bruises) but it is going, very slowly. My legs are considerably better and I hardly ever get cramp now.., but would I wear shorts? - well probably not, there are still veins that either haven't been treated and/or have appeared since treatment. So the result isn't as good as I had first hoped for. Also, in the interest of improving service, I did feel a phone call or even email a week after treatment would be a nice personal touch, just to put at ease those twinges etc, yes, its all in the paperwork, but it would of been nice to have a follow up courtesy call, after all we are choosing to pay for the service.

In October 2016 I had foam scelotherpy therapy in my right leg to remove a very large thigh to calf varicose vein. I had been advised years before that because it was an uncomplicated vein the foam would be a very good option. To say I have been delighted with the result is understatement. I have been over the moon!. I had 2 sessions of foam and the vein disappeared. I have had some staining but it's gradually going. At 51 years old I look and feel younger than I have for years. I can wear clothes I never thought I'd wear again. Shorts, bathing costumes. During this hot weather it's felt wonderful. I would have said it was pure vanity why I'd had it removed. But I can walk for miles and am on my feet all day. My legs don't ache at all now. So it's added a lot to the quality of my life. I have been told it's unlikely I will have another problem with veins. It was a one off. But if I did I would definitely go back to the vein centre in Manchester. I was surprised how quick and easy the foam treatment was and didn't interfere with my life. The stocking came off after 7 days. Thank you Mr Dodds for giving me a new lease of life. Not everyone has been pleased for me and I have found out who my friends are but that's the only downside!!

The clinic in Manchester is easy to get to in a lovely building. The facilities are contemporary and comfortable. The area where one changes into a gown could perhaps be a little more personable - however one is in and out fairly quickly so it is only a minor point. Everyone was really friendly and they all immediately put me at ease. I initially had EVLA and although it is uncomfortable i found it tolerable - Dr West and the nurse practitioner were great and put me at ease - though i don't think Dr West was particularly impressed with my choice of music (an option if you feel a little nervous- and it works )! I did have some discomfort after about an hour for a couple of hours - but painkillers took the edge off. I returned 6 weeks later for sclerotherapy, as mine did what it said on the tin - 12 months on i decided to have one last course of sclerotherapy for a few little residual veins - compared to my legs before i am absolutely delighted and would recommend anyone to go for it - thank you all the team in Manchester

I booked a consultation at the manchester Veincentre. I was given a clear understanding of what the approach would be ,what was involved and what it would cost . I then had a medical examination to establish if I was suitable for the treatment. After thorough investigation it was agreed that I would greatly benefit from the procedure. On my treatment day , although feeling a little apprehensive at first ,I was made to feel totally relaxed by the friendliness of the staff, the professionalism of the nurse and the Dr who looked after me with such great care and patience. I felt no pain and felt in very safe hands. The clinic was lovely and clean and a very pleasant environment. There was no down time , the only inconvenience was to wear surgical stockings and even they were not the usual white hospital type! But a flesh coloured stocking which meant I could still get dressed up and look perfectly normal. I am totally delighted with the result. From a cosmetic point of view it's amazing, I can now wear a short skirt in total confidence but even more importantly I am pain free!! I can get a good nights sleep without cramps . I'm not big on giving feedback but in this instance I have made an exeption in the hope that I can give reassurance to anyone who is enduring the pain or the embarrassment that I tolerated for years . Until this treatment became avaliable I was considering going under the knife and having a risky General anasethic just to relieve myself of my discomfort . I am so grateful to everyone at the Veincenter in Manchester for making it such a positive experience. My daughter Sara is now booked in the London clinic to have hers done in November.
